Prevent Future Plumbing Problems by Lowering Water Pressure

It may feel great having high water pressure while taking a shower, but your wallet may feel the pain with a broken water line. High water pressure stresses your plumbing system and makes the probability of broken water pipes much higher. The life of your plumbing is dramatically affected by the water pressure in your plumbing lines.

It is always wise to measure your water pressure with a hose bib scale. A hose bib scale can be purchased at most hardware or plumbing supply stores. Hook it up to an outside faucet, and then open the valve on the plumbing line. Normal water pressure should register between 40 and 85 psi. (pounds per square inch).  If your water pressure is above these levels, call a local plumber from Daniels Plumbing and ask them to install a pressure regulator on your plumbing system. This can save you a tremendous amount of money down the road.
